Hey there. Welcome! — I’m really glad you’re here.

I’m Lence, a Detroit-born epidemiologist, researcher, and creative with a passion for music, global health, personal style, and living well.
By day, I write data reports that inform health policy and drive impact at the systems level.
By night (and weekends), I do yoga, hit cycling classes, write and record music, experiment in the kitchen, or find small ways to care for myself and stay grounded.
This blog is where it all comes together — lifestyle, wellness, music, public health, fashion, and honest reflections on what it means to live with intention and joy.
Here at ‘Lence in Layers’, you’ll find:
- Insightful, approachable takes on health, wellness, and equity through a public health lens
- Honest reflections on identity, purpose, healing, and making space for the life you want
- Skincare, self-care, and lifestyle routines rooted in real life and evidence
- Fashion finds and outfit inspiration for women expressing themselves through style
- Playlists, music reflections, and original lyrics from a lifelong music lover
- Health-forward recipes, comfort meals, and cooking as a form of creativity and care
- Relationship advice rooted in experience, introspection, and a lot of unlearning
- And so much more~
Whether you’re here for a tip, song, recipe, recommendation, routine, or just a sense of connection — I hope something here meets you where you are.
Thanks for being here.
— Lence
